Description
Measure Motor Control. Act on What You Find.
Watching someone balance tells you they wobble. Measuring it tells you where, how much, and which side — and that's what you can act on.
The Y Balance Test Online Course teaches you a research-backed protocol for measuring dynamic balance and motor control under bodyweight load — single-leg and single-arm reach in three directions, for both the Lower Quarter and Upper Quarter. Quick to learn and simple to apply, it produces objective reach scores and left/right comparisons you can track over time.
By the end, you'll administer both protocols with precision, identify the limitations and asymmetries holding movement back, and use the numbers to guide return-to-activity, programming, and performance decisions — in rehab and fitness alike. Combined with the FMS and injury history, YBT results also feed the Move2Perform algorithm for a fuller picture of risk.
Leave With The Ability To
Measure dynamic balance objectively — administer the Lower Quarter and Upper Quarter protocols with a validated, repeatable process.
Quantify asymmetry — compare left and right so limitations become numbers you can track and retest.
Identify performance roadblocks — find the motor control limitations that hold back movement, fitness, and recovery.
Decide with data — use objective reach scores to guide return-to-activity, programming, and progression decisions.
