This exercise helps you build a rock-solid plank and a strong back by rowing a dumbbell from a one-arm plank.
Get-Up To Press
This exercise helps you master the get-up's starting step: rolling from your side to your back and pressing the kettlebell straight up.
- Starting Position:
- Supine
Start: Lie on your side next to the kettlebell. Grip the handle with the bottom hand and cover it with the top hand.
Action:
Roll onto your back with both hands, bringing the bell to rest on your belly.
Press the bell straight up with both hands, then let the top hand go and rest that arm on the floor.
Finish with the loaded arm vertical and the free arm and both legs angled out 30–45 degrees from your center line.
Feel: Elbow locked, shoulder pulled down, wrist straight. If you feel it in your neck, the shoulder isn't packed.
