Single Leg Supported KB Press
This exercise helps you build shoulder strength and core stability by pressing two kettlebells overhead while standing mostly on one leg.
- Starting Position:
- Single Leg Supported
Start: Stand on one leg with the other foot resting lightly on a stool or low step in front of you — most of your weight stays on the back foot; the front foot is only for balance. Widen or narrow your stance to set the challenge. Stay upright with level hips. Hold a kettlebell in each hand, arms straight at your sides, palms in.
Action:
Sniff air into your belly and curl the kettlebells up to your shoulders, turning your palms to face you.
Then immediately press the kettlebells overhead as you breathe out, until the arms are straight but not locked.
Sniff in again, pull your shoulders down, and lower the kettlebells back to your shoulders with control.
If posture or balance breaks at any point, reset and start again.
Feel: Most of your weight is on the standing leg — the other foot is only for balance. If you're pushing through that front foot, you've lost the drill.
