Single Leg Supported Single Arm KB Press
This exercise helps you build shoulder strength and core stability by pressing a kettlebell overhead while balanced on one leg.
- Starting Position:
- Single Leg Supported
Start: Stand with one foot on a stool in front of you, then lift it off so you're balanced on one leg. Hold a kettlebell in each hand, arms straight at your sides, palms in.
Action:
Sniff air into your belly and curl the kettlebell up to your shoulder, turning your palm to face you.
Then immediately press the kettlebell overhead as you breathe out, until the arm is straight but not locked.
Sniff in again, pull your shoulder down, and lower the kettlebell back to your shoulder with control.
If posture or balance breaks at any point, reset and start again. Do your reps, then switch arms.
Feel: Most of your weight is on the standing leg — the other foot is only for balance. If you're pushing through that front foot, you've lost the drill.
