This exercise helps you turn your head and shoulders while kneeling tall and holding a weight behind you, using your breath to find your true range.
Deep Squat Assisted With FMT
This exercise helps you find a deep squat with a band across your back and under your arms taking some of your weight.
- Starting Position:
- Symmetrical Stance
Start: Anchor both handles high and run the middle of the band across your back, under your arms. Grip the foam handles, wrap your arms around the band once, and keep your arms relaxed. Feet shoulder-width apart. Make sure the anchor is secure before you start.
Action:
Bend your knees and lower into a deep squat, knees wide, feet flat.
Go as low as you comfortably can, torso over your feet, chest up.
Stand back up.
For more help, move further from the anchor or add a heel lift.
Feel: This should feel easier than an unassisted squat — that's the point. Keep your heels down; if they lift, add the heel lift.
