Assisted Rolling Lower Body - Prone To Supine

This exercise helps you relearn rolling from your stomach to your back using your legs, with pads under one side to make it easier.

Start: Stack pads or cushions on the floor and lie on your stomach with half your body on them, so you're tilted toward the side you'll roll. Arms overhead, feet hip-width apart. Let everything from the waist up go completely relaxed.

Action:

  1. Lift one leg and reach it diagonally back and across your body.

  2. Your upper body stays relaxed and behind — the legs pull it over about halfway through, and it follows the hips the rest of the way onto your back.

  3. Reverse back to the start. Repeat, then set up on the other side.

Feel: If your arms are pushing, the drill isn't working. Let the pads and your leg do it. As it gets easy, remove a pad.
